Scenes caught on the fly, unstaged. People in their daily lives, around the world.
These images were born from one and the same experience, repeated since 1977 in the four corners of the world: observing women and men living in their environment, whether urban, natural or immense. An incredible diversity of cultures, eras and rhythms of life rubs shoulders there — and yet, everywhere, the same movement: life and societies move forward, progress and adapt constantly. I watch them evolve in these settings — their daily life, their carefreeness, their curiosity, their simple presence give a human dimension to every place passed through.
Each context changes perception and opens up a particular availability. I do not try to direct reality. I move about, attentive, and moments emerge. The scenes appear, often stronger than anything I could have imagined — the moment is fleeting. So I press the shutter.
